Sustained recovery from serious injury
We support rehabilitation clients to make a sustained recovery from serious injuries, working across multi-track, catastrophic and clinical negligence cases. From facilitating rehabilitation and discharge at the acute stage, to community reintegration, return to work and long-term support, our goal is to achieve maximum independence and a better future for our clients.
Immediate Needs Assessment
The earlier the intervention, the more effective the rehabilitation interventions are likely to be (NICE (2022) Rehabilitation After Traumatic Injury). We conduct Immediate Needs Assessments (INAs) as soon as possible after the traumatic injury.
Depending on the needs of the case, the INA takes place either in person or via video or telephone call. Our rehabilitation case managers will:
We take care to establish a meaningful relationship with the rehabilitation client and their families. In addition to clinical expertise, we know how important it is to build trust to encourage and reassure people. It’s a very personal journey, so matching personalities between case manager and rehabilitation client is fundamental to engagement when guiding someone through the rehabilitation process after serious injury.
HCML Rehabilitation Case Managers are experienced clinicians with backgrounds including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology, mental health and nursing. The team maintains membership and registration with their appropriate professional bodies and are all members of CMSUK, BABICM or the VRA. Our Clinical Leads specialise in areas including acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation and paediatrics.

We maintain a strong reputation for excellence across both legal and insurance sectors. We accept single or joint instruction under the Rehabilitation Code. Working closely with solicitors and insurers, we focus on early intervention and speed of access to the most appropriate solutions while tracking and managing funds to ensure the best rehabilitation outcomes. In certain circumstances, we can offer deferred funding terms to ensure the rehabilitation client has early access to services.

Our Rehabilitation Case Managers work with a range of multidisciplinary professionals to deliver truly bespoke rehabilitation programmes. They leverage their experience and expertise across both private and statutory services to ensure rehab clients receive the support they need and are entitled to. This results in continuity of care for our rehab clients and exceeding the expectations of all stakeholders.
