Nick Delaney
Group Chief Executive Officer
As Group Chief Executive Officer, Nick heads up the team across the HCML Group. He leads the development of the award-winning organisation across its core services and its expansion into new service streams.
Nick previously led the team at Ascenti where he was Group CEO, growing the business by over five times during his seven years of leadership and opening over 400 therapy sites. More recently Nick has provided extensive strategic and non-executive advice to many well-known names within the healthcare industry, including Moving Minds, the handl Group, My:Method, UKS Health Group and The Medical.
Outside work, Nick enjoys fell-walking and playing chess, both of which he indulges in and around the Yorkshire Dales where he lives.
Dr Rebecca Brady
Medical Director
Dr Rebecca Brady is a qualified GP and practises in Bedfordshire. She brings a broad background in different areas of medicine, initially training in psychiatry before specialising as a GP. She also has a special interest in dermatology, menopause and chronic disease management. With a patient-centric focus, Dr Brady takes a holistic approach to healthcare, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge from the NHS to deliver the best outcomes for her patients.
As Medical Director of HCML, she oversees the clinical care provided through HCML services. This includes providing clinical leadership across the specialist medical divisions and being responsible for defining the vision of quality improvement and upholding clinical governance for the business. As part of this, Dr Brady is also responsible for supporting the wellbeing of HCML’s employees.
Using her extensive knowledge and experience of the healthcare sector, Dr Brady is focused on driving new and innovative initiatives that will keep the business moving forward and provide high-quality patient care.
In her spare time, Dr Brady enjoys spending time outdoors in the countryside with her husband, children and Sprocker spaniel. She enjoys cake-decorating and sitting down with a good book – great ways to unwind after a busy week at work!
Ian Waters
Director of PI Rehabilitation & Case Management
Ian has operational and strategic responsibility for HCML’s rapidly growing and award-winning Personal Injury (PI) department. He is a registered physiotherapist with experience in the NHS and private practice, as well as 12 years of experience in the PI market both as a specialist brain injury case manager, and in senior management positions over the last 5 years with HCML. During his time with HCML, Ian and his team have designed and instigated significant structural and strategic change to make it the award-winning service it is.
Alongside an exceptional operational management team, Ian works to ensure rehabilitation and case management excellence in the provision of services to all of HCML’s PI clients. Ian is passionate about ensuring that HCML’s team of case managers, managers and support staff are given every opportunity to succeed, learn and develop in a supportive and inclusive work environment. He believes that through constant investment in staff, HCML will ensure provision of ongoing market leading rehabilitation case management services to our clients, many of whom have sustained life-changing injuries.
In his spare time, Ian enjoys getting out into the great outdoors and living near the coast, tries to do this whenever possible! He also enjoys keeping fit with regular half marathon runs, league badminton and long-distance road cycling. If he ever plucks up the courage, he may take the dive on a triathlon/ironman event, when he squeezes a few more hours into the day.
Stuart Butler
Head of Corporate Health Services
Stuart has headed up HCML’s Corporate Health & Wellbeing services since 2016, having joined the business in 2010.
With a background in Sports Therapy, Stuart began his career delivering musculoskeletal treatment and rehabilitation for private clients and in the sporting environment before joining HCML as a Case Manager. Stuart’s passion for healthcare and achieving positive outcomes means that he relishes supporting Corporate Health customers, across a variety of industries, in achieving just that for their employees, whilst taking great pride in the level of customer service and tailored support delivered along the way.
Outside of work, Stuart has a son who helps keep him fit and active, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new places at home and overseas, and has a broad interest in sports with a particular love for football.
Gareth Davies
Head of Treatment Services
Gareth is our Head of Treatment Services and is responsible for the strategic development, performance and operational management of our directed treatment, triage and specialist services teams.
Gareth joined HCML in 2018 with over 10 years’ experience working in the rehabilitation industry in both operational management and senior leadership positions with a particular specialism in managing teams through rapid growth and development.
A passionate believer in the benefits that efficient processes, systems and administration can bring to the rehabilitation journey, he loves seeing the real-life outcomes of the work HCML delivers and building that culture into the heart of everything we do.
Outside of work, he is a big sports fan, playing rugby and football and loves getting outside for a run, a walk or a cycle whenever he can.
Daniel Hallgarth
Director of Market & Business Development
Having joined the business in 2011, Daniel heads up the business development and account management function of HCML and is responsible, along with his team, for creating and nurturing new and existing relationships across the insurance, legal and corporate sectors.
Having a clinical background that sits alongside his commercial experience, Daniel has always been passionate about helping people and uses this passion and enthusiasm within his current role to help identify and deliver solutions that simultaneously meet customer needs and deliver excellent clinical outcomes for the patient.
Outside of work, Daniel enjoys travelling with his wife and 2 young children to destinations near and far as well as continuing to play football on regular basis.
Ben Dawson
Commercial & Transformation Director
Ben joined HCML in October 2015 after several years in Operations and Supplier Management in Financial Services and the public sector. Ben heads up our new Performance & Quality Management function, and is responsible for knitting together operations, supply chain, support services, governance & compliance, and IT to enhance the performance of HCML, to improve the quality of our services, and to achieve our strategic objectives.
When he met his partner, he told her that he would never leave London, hated cats, would never get married and would certainly never have children. Ben now lives in West Sussex with his wife, his son and daughter, and their cat, Haggis. Ben will tell you that in his spare time he goes cycling, but he’s lying to himself and really needs to sort that out. He’ll definitely start exercising more frequently from the start of next month.
Pauline Cunningham
Head of Human Resources
Pauline started her HR career with Morgan Stanley and has over 25 years HR experience, mainly within the financial services industry. Prior to HCML, Pauline set up the HR department for River and Mercantile, a specialist investment management company. In the 8 years she was with the company, she implemented the Recruitment, Performance Management, HR, and Payroll system, and designed policies and procedures for global roll out.
Pauline is passionate about people and their wellbeing, and is skilled in driving transformation within HR departments. She is motivated to provide the best employee experience by encouraging open communication, opportunities to share ideas for positive change and listening and responding to the needs of employees and the business. Her strategic approach in setting directives enables a productive workforce and supportive environment in which to work. She is CIPD and CIPP certified.
Anthony Eeles
Chief Digital/Information Officer
Anthony joined HCML in April 2006 and has headed up our IT team for the majority of that time, as well as a 2-year operational management role between 2015 and 2017 as Head of Health Services. Anthony has oversight of our IT and Digital team, leading the team in delivering our bespoke Case Management System and Digital Rehabilitation roadmap, ensuring IT resilience and security for our customers, and bringing together a range of digital technologies to facilitate and support our next generation rehabilitation services.
Outside of HCML, Anthony volunteers by running a local Scout group and enjoys cycling and kayaking with his wife and daughter.
Paul Hardwick
Chief Financial Officer
Paul joined HCML in 2021 as Chief Financial Officer. He is a qualified Fellow Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and holds an Accounting & Financial Management degree from Sheffield University. Prior to working for HCML, Paul spent over 20 years building his career through audit and financial reporting at Santander before holding positions as Financial Controller and Finance Director in SMEs. At work there’s nothing Paul likes more than getting stuck into some large spreadsheets!
Outside of work Paul has 3 young children keeping him busy as well as enjoying playing and watching football…with a Tottenham season ticket for his sins!
James Cracknell, OBE, MPhil
HCML Rehabilitation Ambassador
James is a six-time world rowing champion and double Olympic gold medallist. In addition to his sporting achievements and taking part in a variety of sporting challenges and documentaries, he is a commentator, journalist, consultant and has huge experience in membership of working groups to influence Government policy on matter close to his heart, such as obesity and physical activity.
His role at HCML is to help raise the profile of case management and rehabilitation services to enable a wider range of people to access the support they need throughout their recovery, within their communities and for the longer term.
Having sustained a traumatic brain injury himself James understands first-hand the importance of tailored and coordinated rehabilitation. His personal experience enables him to provide insight and guidance, encouraging client engagement and motivation to achieve goals and maximise their own rehabilitation.
